ACNP Mission Statement

Mission

ACNP is the national peak organisation for nurse practitioners advancing nursing practice and access to health care.

Aims

1.1 To provide leadership, representation and support to improve the provision of health care to the general community.

1.2 To monitor and make recommendations regarding the ongoing developments of the role of Nurse Practitioner policy and positions.

1.3 To increase the level of awareness in the health care arena and to the general public of the Nurse Practitioner role.

1.4 To provide forums for discussion and dissemination of information.

1.5 To provide consultancy to improve the provision of health care to the general community.

1.6 To support relevant nursing research.

Dear Colleagues

These certainly are exciting times and one of the most momentous events is approaching in relation to the rolling out of the MBS/PBS numbers and associated legislation for Nurse practitioners. The College strongly recommends attendance to ensure your practice is current and you understand all the requirements to comply with legislation. Topics presented at this one day programme will address these issue and help prepare clinicians for the new requirements under the PBS/MBS legislation.
