"Transforming Health Care" Nurse practitioners and training candidates in Queensland are growing in number and specialty. There are three universities offering Masters programs for NPs and more on the horizon. NPs are a part of broader health service reform that has taken place in QLD in recent years and they are 100% supported by successive governments. With recent funding allocation NP positions are being established in areas of health service need over the next three years. We are on the cutting edge of exciting change that will one day be nursing history. Our aim is to transform health care in our generation and not stand still in our endeavors. Sharyn Plath 18/09/09 At our recent state AGM I haved stepped down from Chair position after nearly 3yrs and have been elected as Vice chair so that I can continue to support Robyn Peters as our new chair person. Many thanks for all the support I received as Chair! It has been an honour to have been involved from the start of the NP movement in QLD; we are now gaining momentum. Cheers, Sharyn Plath |
