I am delighted to accept the nomination for SA Chair- ACNP. Its big shoes that I step into and I would like to firstly take the opportunity to thank Luke Christofis for his outstanding dedication to the development of the Nurse Practitioner role in South Australia. From his instrumental role in the inital formation of SANPA and ultimately to the national body - ACNP, Luke has been an inspiration to those who have come after him. I am grateful that Luke has volunteered to stay on as vice chair, to support me as I navigate this new role. A little about me - I have been employed at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital since 1991, spent the last twelve years in the Emergency Department and was authorised as a Nurse Practitioner in 2007. I share the ACNP vision for the future of Nurse Practitioners in Australia and the role that we can play in shaping the way healthcare is delivered, to ensure that the needs of all Australians are met. With the current political climate and the promise of enormous change underfoot, this is an exciting time to take on this new challenge.
