The Aaxis pacific new investigators award is an award voted by our peak body in wound management, the Australian Wound Management Association and sponsored by Aaxis pacific. It is awarded for new research and reviews the methodology and outcomes achieved.

The research was conducted over a 3 year period and measured the effects of introducing a evidenced based wound management model into 6 community health centres in the Greater Newcastle region. They were able to reduce the wounds that had been opened longer than 12 months from 44% to 11%.

Margo will be presenting this work at the national Conference in Melbourne in Oct.
