NURSE practitioners and some midwives have moved one step closer to being able to access the MBS and PBS after controversial legislation was tabled in Federal Parliament today.

The Health Legislation Amendment (Midwives and Nurse Practitioners) Bill and a Professional Indemnity Bill covering midwives is likely to get free passage through both houses of parliament, with the majority of senators speaking in favour of both pieces of legislation.
