ACNP National Board of Directors Election 2022

The ACNP is led by a National Board of Directors with a National Council advising on key regional and strategic issues facing Nurse Practitioners and the membership. The nominations for the appointment of the ACNP Board of Directors are open. Nominations will close on the 3rd June 2022 (11.59pm AEST).  TIME IS RUNNING OUT.

As the President of the College for the past 3.5 years, I would like to encourage all full members to give nominating for a Board position serious consideration.  Our current Board has a wealth of experience, and have been instrumental in making significant changes and advances for the College, and for any new Board member joining us now, this is an amazing opportunity to transition and learn in a supported way.

It is important to realise that the Board must undergo regular changes, with 2 new Board members being elected each year, so that we do not have a full Board changeover in any one year.  This is important for continuity and continued growth of the College.  The number of consecutive terms for Board members are also limited, so it is important that we follow a continual process of change, support, training and transition. 

This is a great opportunity to learn new skills, and engage in your profession and the business of the College at a higher level.

Details of nominations:

  1. Any full member (AHPRA-endorsed Nurse Practitioners) shall be eligible to serve as an elected Director of the ACNP Board. 

  2. The Board of Directors shall include two elected Directors: Two Directors for a two-year term (October 2022 – October 2024)

  3. The allocation of roles will be self-nominated by the elected Directors.

  4. Nominations will only be accepted via completing the four steps as outlined below.

Four steps to nominate:

  1. Complete the ‘National Board of Directors Application form’ which addresses the selection criteria relating to your eligibility for an ACNP Board Director position. Go to Election Forms
  2. Attach supporting documents #1-4 detailed in the application form

  3. Ensure you are able to meet the declaration requirements of ASIC Corporation ACT 2001 to be Director of a College Board, noting specific duties and responsibilities as highlighted in Chapter 2D - Officers & Employees. 

  4. Email your completed forms and attachments in PDF form to admin@acnp.org.au.  Please title your email ‘Nomination for Board of Directors’

Successful nominees:

The successful nominees will be appointed by the Nominations Committee, on the 15th of August and announced to members at the AGM held at the ACNP National Conference in October 2022.
