Traci Lonergan NP Diabetes
Traci is a Nurse Practitioner specialising in diabetes management in primary care with a background of 30 years’ experience as a registered nurse. She has a Clinical Masters in paediatrics, working with young people and their families who are living with type 1 diabetes. Her main areas of interest centre around technologies used for management of diabetes, particularly type 1. She was the Youth Program Coordinator for Diabetes Tasmania for some years, facilitating camps for young people with type 1 diabetes, and chair of the Diabetes Friendly Schools Steering Committee in Tasmania. Traci shares her time between clinics for people with type 2 diabetes and private practice which is predominantly focused on people with type 1 diabetes using insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring.
She is passionate about primary care and loves being part of the front-line team in health care. The relationships that are built in primary care and the education that is shared can enable our patients to make informed decisions, take control of their health and live their best life.
