Prescribing and Pharmacology Workshop - Sydney
This workshop will provide an overview of Nurse Practitioner’s role in prescribing, the key issues faced with particular focus on PBS access, regulations and limitations.
Key issues: legislation, ethics, PBS, scheduling changes
Evidence based prescribing and essential resources
Communication and patient-centred approach
Update on recent new drugs, guidelines , cautions, controversies, drug interactions
All these will be addressed in this one day workshop, where we will focus on the areas:
Cardiovascular disease states
Chronic disease states
Polypharmacy and co-morbidities
Case studies, prescribing tips and deprescribing guidelines.

Understanding effective means of managing, responding to and supporting clients and/or customers presenting with complex and/or challenging behaviours while equally supporting them and all others across a broad range of environments.
Understanding individual circumstances and intended outcomes.
Understanding the importance of stakeholder relations and working collaboratively.
