By ACNP President

On 30 April 2020 the Commonwealth Department of Health updated their guidelines to Primary Health Networks (PHN's) in relation to the provision of PPE to Nurse Practitioners.

After lobbying of Federal authorities by the ACNP President Leanne Boase on behalf of all Nurse Practitioners in Primary Care across the country, including rural and remote areas the ACNP is pleased to share the update that NP's can now request PPE through their local PHN

The updated Fact sheet reads "Please note: PHNs are now able to distribute stocks to after-hours GP home visiting services, Medical Deputising Services (MDS), and Nurse Practitioner owned or led primary care practices in their area".  You can read the full statement from the Department of Health below this article.

If you continue to experience access issues to PPE be sure to contact the ACNP by calling 1300 433 660 or emailing bernie.mcphee@acnp.org.au.
