Professional Performance Framework
The Australian College of Nurse Practitioners has designed the Professional Performance Framework (PPF), accessible to all members through a portal on this website. The portal provides tailored functionality for different types of healthcare professionals participating in the framework, such as midwives, nurses, postgraduate nursing, midwifery students, and Nurse Practitioners. The PPF is divided into three sections: fostering professional engagement, supporting safe practice, and fostering a culture of excellence.
Participants in the program have the flexibility to meet the requirements at their own pace, ensuring a balanced approach to professional development and practice. To fulfil the requirements of the program, all participants achieve a minimum 60 points annually, through completion of the three sections of the Professional Performance Framework program. On completion of the requirements the participant will receive an ACNP PPF completion certificate and access to an individual report. The participant can complete this annually as part of their membership.
Upon completing 100 points of the PPF annually, as defined, a Nurse Practitioner is eligible to apply for the Professional Fellowship of the Australian College of Nurse Practitioner (PF-ACNP). This application marks a significant milestone in their professional journey, recognising their commitment to excellence in healthcare. It's important to note that the additional requirements of peer review and clinical encounters are integral parts of this process.
ACNP is currently in the pilot phase of the program and it is due to launch mid 2025.
