Bernie has been the ACNP Membership Officer since Easter 2018 and a Toastmaster since 2012.  As a Toastmaster she has covered many topics in her prepared speeches ranging from Petrichor-The smell of rain, to comparing her Dad to a Toasted Marshmallow.  Bernie never suffered from crippling glossophobia (fear of public speaking) like many do and enjoys the creative aspects of developing a speech and/or presentation. 

In her time as a Toastmaster she has, gained her Competent Communicator (Bronze, Silver & Gold), Competent Leadership (Bronze & Silver) and won Club and Area speaking competitions and participated in Division contests.  Bernie has shared her skills through the Toastmasters mentoring program and as a Club Coach. Bernie has held Club Committee positions and been an Area Director. She is currently the Vice President Public Relations of Glen Waverley Toastmasters in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne Victoria and  working towards her Distinguished Toastmaster Award.
